Point Lookout - Queensland's most Easterly Point

Only 2m inside Australia's most easterly point, Cape Byron, Point Lookout is close to the continental shelf and the whales often become clearly visible as they veer left around the Point.

Using the Whale Trail map of Point Lookout you can download here , you can easily walk to the series of whale watching platforms situated high above the surf on Whale Rock, Frenchmans, Deadmans and Cylinder headlands. The walks are achievable for most fitness levels and are an ideal way to follow the whales as they pass by Australia's second most easterly point, the aptly named Whale Rock!
